In Trowbridge v Burton Kupien, the jury reached a verdict for the defendant after a hurried trial Tuesday afternoon. Disputed calf trade actions involved parties from near Georgia and drew three prominent attorneys. The case had two years of public debate.

Frankfort Kentucky November 26 One Kentucky girl canned 1000 quarts of tomatoes raised on a tenth of an acre besides supplying her family with all domestic use. She netted about 75 dollars and is named state champion by Commissioner J W Newman. The USDA and Kentucky Department of Agriculture plan to fund canning clubs in ten counties next year with 100 dollars to each county to hire a woman organizer. Rockcastle County already approved the 100 dollar match. The project aims to aid mountain regions where wild berries are plentiful and canning helps move products to market under strict quality oversight.
Fred Newton was fined $1 and costs in police court Wednesday for intoxication.
The case of Riley versus Baltimore and Ohio for personal damages was on trial Wednesday. H P Smallwood and wife of Harrodsburg left Tuesday for a winter home in St Petersburg Florida. Mrs C C Smallwood of Bloomington accompanied them to the city and spent the day with the R W Dixon family. Mr and Mrs M Tidwell of Brownstown were here this morning on their way home from a visit in Bedford Seymour Republican.
William H. Henderson of Morgan County sells the 241 acre C. L. Norman farm in Pleasant Run and Marshall townships to Henry L. Hawk of Henry County for $20,000. The property is described as all bottom land and among the county's best.
William and Alonzo Kirk of this city were notified Wednesday of their mother’s death which occurred in Huron Tuesday night. The notice gives the family as heirs and lists the place of death as Huron with no further details.
In a Hendricks county case the Indiana Supreme Court ruled ghosts and apparitions have no standing in court. The dispute over 160 acres centered on Jasper Craven claiming land by his ancestor Barker. The court reversed the lower decision and ordered title quieted in Mrs. Craven after forty six years of undisputed possession.
Iven Cox of Martin County appealed to the Supreme Court over a settlement with the Ohio and Mississippi Railroad and its successor Baltimore and Ohio Southwestern. Cox had been injured while employed, received $180 cash and doctor bills plus an oral life employment promise. The circuit court upheld the oral agreement between Cox and the original company, but not against the new owner, and the Supreme Court affirmed.

Five whitecap cases were stricken from the state Circuit Court docket on the term’s last day. The defendants were William Snoddy Joseph Grubb Joseph Shields George Matton and Arthur Matton. Tobe Snoddy and Silas Adams faced charges filed the same time and service at Michigan City prison will reach one year in January.
