Miss Clara Caley died in Bloomington from consumption at about 26. Her body to Palestine, Idaho. Rex Brown, infant son of Mr and Mrs Homer Brown, died at 8 months from hydrocephalus. Edward A Hollard died at 23 after bladder trouble, body to seven miles northeast of city. Mrs Elizi J Lee died in Florida. funeral held at First Christian church in Bedford. Mary Ann Johnson of Manatee Florida died at 84 after lung abscess. The piece also mentions Chicago strikers and employers guarding department stores with many wagons in use and a blacklist rumored.
Terre Haute May 11 J W Thompson, general manager of the Southern Indiana Railway, says John R Walsh owner of the Southern Indiana Railroad will next year construct a large hotel at Trinity Springs to rival French Lick and West Baden. A branch line from Indian Springs to Trinity Springs will be built and track work is underway to level the roadbed.

Southbound Monon No 3 engine 92 with engineer Pat Rowan and fireman Charles Mensley derailed at a Lafayette interlocking switch after a crossing stop. Rowan was badly bruised and kept from work. Mensley uninjured. An east bound freight crossed first and derailed the passenger engine to avert disaster. Wrecking crews and a jumbo derrick righted the locomotive, and the train was moved to a siding. delay about three hours.
Andy Laniz pleaded guilty to provoking William Young and paid 959 dollars into Justice Harris Court. H Charles W Burton pleaded guilty before Mayor Smith to assault and battery on Jacob Kierdorf and was fined 930 cents with costs stayed. Kierdorf was granted a change of venue to trial at 7 pm before Justice Lea Potter, recently appointed by the County Commissioners to fill a vacancy.

Robert G. Miller, Prosector of Monroe county, arrived in Lafayette and will stay at his father Henry A. Miller’s Montmorenci home to recuperate. He plans to return to Lafayette to practice law. Guy Hill sues Star Stone Co. for 5000 dollars over a quarry accident using a derrick to lift a 25000 pound stone, claiming negligence led to a 25 foot fall and serious injuries.
William P Robinson, a housecleaner, killed four people in San Diego including Rivervale relatives Mrs Emma Stewart and William Stewart. The spree also wounded Harry Doddridge and Mrs Doddridge, then ended his life. Others injured or affected included H W Chase and W H Doddridge.
The Big Outdoor Festival will gather German physical culture societies from America and Europe at the Indiana State fair grounds the week of June 91st. About 8 000 athletes will camp on site with day and night parades concerts and a festival play. Excursion fares via Pennsylvania Lines offer one round trip plus 25 cents, June 26th to 23d, with return until June 27th. Local ticket agents can provide train times.
Virgil Wilson awaiting trial for attempted murder of Silas Guthrie was found Monday morning to have cut his right ankle with a razor in an apparent suicide attempt. Sheriff Smith confiscated the weapon and placed him under observation. Wilson refused to speak to his attorney McHenry Owen and may be deteriorating mentally. Also note that W.B. Wicker received a telegram about Bob Wicker in hotel quarantine for smallpox, who reports he remains well.
The largest Rathbone Convention in the 16th district was held in Bloomington on Thursday night marking the Bloomington Temple’s 8th anniversary. Delegates totaled over 200 from Gosport Linton Jasonville Bleitzville Odon and Bedford with Bedford’s group arriving earlier and staying overnight. A two course luncheon followed after the work exemplification. Attendees from the local area included Mr and Mrs J W Harris Mrs J B Stipp Mrs George Matthieu Mrs Will Troy Mrs Harry Hughes Mrs Fred Strout Miss Lizzie Coleman and Mrs M W Hunter.
Rev. Irl R Hicks of St. Louis warns of serious electrical disturbances within three days due to sun spots. Telegraph and other electrical instruments could be crippled while the northern lights may blaze unusually. He cites a quarter of the sun covered with spots and a large spot about 100000 miles long as triggers.
Master Charles Shoulty hosted a birthday gathering at his North J Street home with friends and family. Guests gave gifts, ice cream cake and fruit were served, and well wishes were offered for future birthdays.
The North American Gymnastic Union plans its national festival at the Indiana State Fair grounds in Indianapolis from June 21 to 25. Teams up to 490 strong will perform large scale formations with contestants from every state and nations including England Germany Holland and Italy. A day pageant floats torchlight procession and a $25 000 city entertainment effort accompany visitors. Rail fares 1.25 round trip. tickets June 20 to 23 via Pennsylvania Lines. return by June 27.

Hamilton Clipp aged 81 fell in his backyard at 14th and J streets Friday at 1 pm fracturing his right hip. He has been partially paralyzed for some time and walked with difficulty. His condition is listed as very serious.
