Longest Train Through Jasper on French Lick Line

A train of sixty eight cars and a caboose passed Jasper last Saturday night on the Southern’s French Lick extension. Part of the cars carried coal and the run showcased a modern locomotive designed to cut costs and boost dividends. Campfield's Creditors Move Toward Bankruptcy

John H. Underwood, attorney for Perry Matthews and Buskirk Stone Company, returned from Indiana where creditors of Edwin Campfield met in Indianapolis. Campfield’s contract for the Madison Southeastern Insane Hospital project was forfeited by the Hospital Commission, and creditors plan bankruptcy proceedings to apportion among them the stone debts. Campfield is believed to live in Findlay Ohio, but votes at Richmond and has family in Madison.
