John W. Chase, minister, announces church school at 10 and worship at 1. Builders class social Friday at the church. Weather delayed the study course "A Mission to Teachers" first session. it will begin next Sunday evening. Members asked to submit suggestions in the vestry box.

A gathering of old friends from Lenox Humeston and Sharpsburg met Wednesday at Bibbins Park in Bedford for a picnic dinner. The Presbyterian Aid Society hosted Thursday afternoon Sept 6 at Mrs George Cade's home southeast of town with assistant hostesses Mrs Chas Jones Jr Mrs Clyde Damewood and Mrs Chas Rinaburger.
Miss Sara Jane Bowers of Clarinda visited Miss Eva Clark Friday and headed to Maryville to attend college. Mr and Mrs Stanley Read and their young son visited Plattsmouth relatives. Rev and Mrs J W Chase returned from Hanover Illinois after a week with Chase's ailing mother and friends. en route they saw Grimes Iowa. Mrs Myrna Bush and others shopped in Shenandoah Tuesday. Franklin Anderson spent the weekend in Leon with relatives. Mrs Anderson visited in Omaha, then returned home. Mrs Marjorie Rodenbaugh and children from Omaha visited Mrs Ella Knott and kin. Ella Knott returns to Fort Collins Colorado to teach. Mrs Knott then visited Lincoln with daughters. Mrs Bert Williams and her mother Mrs T T Young, visiting here, were guests of Mrs Joe Cochran Tuesday.
Mrs Wm Cochran entertained the Nu Bridge Club at her northwest town home Thursday afternoon. Four tables of bridge were played with guests Mrs Lester McKay Mrs Carrie Pinney Mrs Ed Phelan and Mrs Clyde Taylor. The Twentieth Century Club will hold its first meeting of the year Friday September 14 at the home of Mrs Dead Hunter a covered dish luncheon will be served.
Mr and Mrs Tom Nissen and son Tommy of Sioux City spent the weekend at Mrs Carrie Pinneys home. Visitors from Lenox and Humeston joined Mrs Chloe Kerns for a Tuesday visit. Mrs Leta Clark attended funeral services in Prescott for Mary DavIs. Frank Chitty and Belle Welch hosted dinner with relatives near Gravity. Lela Clark visited Conway with cousin Belle Burrows who is ill. Maudlin family bought Dora Davis property in Sharpsburg. Dora Hayes Ray Kerns visited Roy Hayes near Lennox. Joe Allen and family from Breckenridge Missouri spent time with A C Whipple. Weekend guests at Joe Cochran home included Effie Black John Cochran and Harry Cochran. Clarence Maudlin visited Perry Smith home in Hatfield Missouri. John Drain of Lenox and Lisyd Grimm hosted dinner. Elder H H White and wife also noted.
In Glenwood a Seventh Day Adventist minister visited Sunday afternoon at the John Key home. Ben Heckabout of Denver was in Sharpburg Thursday calling on old friends. Mr and Mrs Paul Chitty with Mr and Mrs Harold Fleming of Corning left Friday for a vacation trip to the Ozarks.
Mrs Handorf's pupils treated Ladonna Pratt to ice cream and cake on her birthday anniversary. The Just-A-Mere Club met at Mrs Neil Combs with a miscellaneous shower and refreshments. Plumb Lodge No 285 AF&AM held a regular meeting at the Masonic Hall with second degree work and visitors from Clarinda.

Miss Maralyn MecMath and F Dale Schlapia were married September 4 at 2 45 PM in Troy Kansas. Rev Clarence Harder officiated the double ring ceremony with attendants Mr and Mrs Walter Strange of Diagonal. Bride in peacock blue dress. both graduates, she a teacher, he a five year U S Army veteran.
Ed on her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Black at Sheridan Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Black of Clearfield called at the Vernie Burns and Marion Jenkins homes Wednesday. Mrs. F. O. Wilson returned on Wednesday after spending a few days with her sister, Mrs. Harry Young and family at Sheridan. Mr. and Mrs. Turner Rusco of Conway were in town Thursday afternoon visiting at the Joe Rusco home.
Conway notes a Silver Tea sponsored by the Philothea Class of the Methodist church to be held at the County Farm Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Piper hosted three table Pinochle on Thursday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Godfrey of Pomona California. Women's Society of Christian Service met with Mrs. Kenneth Phelan with devotions led by Mrs. Hattie Straight and lesson by Mrs. H. A. Piper. Refreshments were served with Mrs. Belle Norton assisting.
Ralph Pratt appointed administrator of the Spedie Raper estate in Taylor County Iowa on September 8 1945. All debts owed should be paid to the administrator and all claims must be presented to the district court for approval by the attorney M R Brant.
