Mr and Mrs Paul E Wirth of Conway announce the engagement of their daughter Cynthia Lea to Anthony Micile son of Mr and Mrs Frank Micile of Des Moines The couple plan a September wedding at Ansbury Methodist Church in Des Moines Cynthia is a 1964 Bedford Community High School graduate and recent graduate of Thompson Beauty School in Des Moines She is employed by James Hairstyles of Distinction Anthony Micile works for Hotel Savory Des Moines.
Ruby Terrill will be hostess for Mizpah D.O.C. on September 9. Leaders for the afternoon will be Gladys Griffith and Doris Hardee. Roll call will be answered with the "Highlight of my Summer."

Sept 9 features Masons VV Club at Ross Center School with Guest Night, West Gay Club and Mizpah D OC hosting. VV Club guest night at 7 p.m. Mary Round Ruth Park lead supper committee. Marie Park and Phyllis Oxley run program. members urged to invite a couple.
The 3V Club plans a September 9 gathering with Mary Sharp as hostess and Myrtle Snyder as co hostess. The event details indicate a social meeting at a local club venue.
Miss Mary Frances Fleming daughter of Mrs Cecil Fleming and the late Mr Fleming of Atlantic Iowa wed L Edward Purcell son of Mr and Mrs L A Purcell of Bedford in a double ring ceremony at Atlantic First Methodist Church. Dr Walter B Wiser officiated. The reception followed with 175 guests and the couple will reside in Indianola after a short honeymoon.
Margaret Huelskamp and the Calendar Committee will host an Autumn Tea for Fortnightly Club members with Elvin Beemer as guest speaker.
Mr and Mrs Troy Spencer longtime Bedford Iowa residents now living in Loveland Colorado celebrated their golden anniversary with a reception and open house at First Christian Church Loveland. About 185 relatives and friends attended with family roles listed and out of town guests noted.
Hosts Mr and Mrs Ray Glass presided over the 30th Noble reunion on August 22 with a bountiful dinner and business meeting. One death Dale Peterman, two births Lori Ann Peterman and Debra Jo Haring, and a marriage for Ellen McCormick are noted. Attendees included the Noble family from Council Bluffs New Market and Des Moines with 1966 hosts planned.
Circles One to Three of the Baptist Women's Society plan meetings on Tuesday September 7 with hosts and rotating devotion leaders. The Dorcas Evening Society meets Monday September 6 with co hostesses and a program. Methodist W S C S opens the new year September 7 at the church with a potluck and Circle 1 hostesses. Living in the Space Age is the first lesson.
Extension forester Jim Gottsacker urges walnut sellers to obtain 2 3 estimates before selling as demand climbs and trees reach saleable size. Iowa State will host Cattle Feeders Day Sept 2 with details to follow. The 1964 Farm Census shows Taylor County farms averaging 217 acres, a rise from 191 in 1959, and beef cows up from 6 781 to 19 858. Fertilizer use tripled, and corn plant disease root rot without a current cure is noted. Changes in lawn seeding timing, armyworm damage in later corn plantings, and urea use with corn silage for hay replacement are discussed along with pest notes and contacts.
