The Mod ern Literary Club gathered at Cora Deweese’s residence on Tuesday afternoon with 14 members present. Alfreda Sturms led the lesson and Hazel Conaway presented a special feature. Maurine Kerns helped with refreshments.

Mrs Aden Combs reports New Market visitors including Mr and Mrs Gary Lininger Mr and Mrs Richard Parsons Mr and Mrs Gary Spring and children from New Market along with Mr and Mrs Jack Yearous Mt Ayr Mr and Mrs Norman Williams Bedford spent Saturday evening with Mr and Mrs Gary Hutcheson in Clarinda. Sunday guests of Mr and Mrs Manford Adams included Mr and Mrs Lynn ne Mr and Mrs Keith Adams and Charlotte from Hopkins.
The Union Choir rehearses this Sunday at 3 30 p m in the Christian Church under director Joan Owens for a Christmas cantata to be staged December 18. Local residents and visitors joined in a cooperative dinner at several households with multiple families cited from Blockton Clearfield Burlington Mesa and Lenox in attendance over the weekend.
Local society notes from Sheridan record anniversaries visits and gatherings. Mrs. Ira Miller marked 50 years at a Sunday open house. families from Clarinda Red Oak Davenport and St Joseph attended events. Various birthday dinners and anniversaries were celebrated with relatives and friends in town and nearby.
