Community Meetings At Frog Valley School

Frog Valley patrons held the first community meeting of the new school year at the Frog Valley Ross No. 2 school house. Troy John was reelected president and Mrs John Lacy was chosen vice president. The program featured songs, recitations, readings, and student performances.

Shum Elected President Of Dependable Class

Floyd Shum was elected president of the Dependable class at the Methodist Episcopal church during a Friday evening meeting after a pot luck supper. Eldon Poole was chosen vice president and Clint Emmitt was re elected secretary treasurer. Games followed the business session and the next family night party is planned for January.

Presbyterians Birthday Supper Friday at First Church

First Presbyterian church members and congregation host a covered dish supper Friday evening November 2 with July August and September birthdays as honor guests. Hostesses are Mrs M D Lewis Miss Beryl Rhoads and Mrs Guy Thompson. Attendees bring dishes and provide own table service. The Wild Rose club holds a one o clock luncheon Friday at Mrs Jay S Terrill home with Mrs A K Morris and Miss Myrtle Snyder assisting. Meeting place moves from Mrs J F Longfellow’s home to Mrs Terrill’s.

Masquerade Party At Hahn Home For Fifty Children

Julia and Decker Hahn hosted about fifty youngsters Monday night at the Hahn residence. The party included bobbing for apples and other Halloween games with refreshments served. Methodist W M S to Meet Tuesday at Mrs. Locke's home with devotions led by Mrs. Wright and lesson on New Opportunities in Japan by Mrs. Hook.

Paul Wogan welcomed the Bedford schools second grade and Miss Louise Weller for a Halloween gathering at the schoolhouse on Wednesday afternoon. The event doubled as his belated seventh birthday celebration from August. Refreshments included sandwiches and black and orange jelly beans. Mrs. Paul Simpson hosted the O. C. club on Monday for an afternoon of bridge. No meeting next week due to the Times Press cooking school. the following gathering will be hosted by Mrs. M. A. Webster.
