Bedford Men Plan Lake Project With IOWA League
Local fishermen and sportsmen met in Bedford in 1982 to form an organization affiliated with the Wi Ho Dog League of Iowa to pursue a Bedford area lake. An engineer for the Iowa Conservation Board visited, and the lake site was explored by local leaders. The project grew with CCC and WPA programs, with a 123 acre wake area and a beach opening on June 2, 1933 under life guards and concession facilities.
