Farm Bureau Briefs Nominates Camp Delegates

Helen Wintermute of Blockton and Vernon Cox of Conway are Taylor County 4-H nominees for the Conservation Camp to be held June 5 to 8 at Mitigwa. About 50 boys and girls from across Iowa will attend. delegates are chosen for outstanding club work and leadership.

Don Glass Accepts Leadership of Washington Farmers

The fourth Washington Farmers meeting on May 12 at George and Don Baker home drew 12 members with two new additions. Don Glass accepted the leadership role with Duane Simmons as junior leader. Don Baker demonstrated hog spraying and John Hunter presented on minerals. Members plan a softball team and a tour of projects at the next gathering.

Last young married group square dance closes season

The final young married group square dance of the season took place at Gravity on Wednesday evening with about thirty couples enjoying round and square dancing. The June meeting will be a Sunday noon picnic at Bibbins Park.

Ames Club Activities Include Skating Party and Rally Day

Ames members discussed a May 24 skating party and Rally Day at the girls meeting. Janice Edwards demonstrated table setting styles assisted by Florence Huntington, with Mildred Naven speaking on compromise service. Training school notes were shared by Janice Edwards. June 2 hosts an all day meet with Patsy Curtis. A weiner roast at Merle Fishell's followed two business meetings, with games to conclude.

Mason 4-H Joint Meeting Highlights Tutored Crafts

Mason county 4-H clubs held a May 9 gathering at Marlene and Arthur Hutchison home. Girls demonstrated cooking and table setting with soft custard and baked custard by Martha Chase and Ada Young. Shirley McAlpin presented a table setting demonstration. Jane Akers spoke on compromise service. Plans were set for the county Mother-Daughter Tea and next all day meeting with Carol Cabbage in June.

B B B Club Holds Flower Exchange At Home

The B B B Club met at Mrs. Jake Kernen's home on April 25 for an afternoon gathering. Members answered roll call with their favorite flowers and held a flower exchange as planting season approaches. Mrs. Kernen hosted with ice cream and cake for lunch.

J. T. Club Receives Knitting Instruction

The J. T. Club met at Mrs. Rex Hatfield’s home on Tuesday April 25 with six members. Mrs. McKinley led knitting instruction and received a farewell gift as she moves to Montezuma Iowa. Lunch was served by the hostess with Mrs. Dougherty assisting. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Wall.
