Car Collision Kills Farmer and Injures Two
Lon McKay a 27 year old farmer nine miles west of Bedford on highway No 3 died Monday after noon from injuries suffered in an automobile crash. His wife 24 was badly hurt with lacerations a fractured jaw and other injuries. Paul Bartlett of Bedford a traveling salesman for Orchard Wilhelm furniture company Omaha sustained a injured left arm and shoulder. Bartlett pinned by luggage after crash. he escaped serious injury. The accident occurred in front of Loy farm eight miles west of Bedford around 10:30 am. The Jones car carried aid workers and others to help. Both cars wrecked badly.

An estimated three inches or more of rainfall Friday and Saturday broke the drought threatening crops and pastures. Heavy washing damaged some fields while rain soaked deep. Chinch bugs, though damp, remain thick in oats wheat and barley and are migrating to young corn. An addition to the Farm Credit Administration building is underway to house all Land Bank departments. Graduation Exercises Set For Tuesday
Sixty four Bedford high school students will graduate here Tuesday evening at the commencement exercises with Uel W. Lamkin of Northwest Missouri State Teachers College to give the commencement address. The bacalaureate sermon will be delivered Sunday at 8 p.m. by Rev C M Crowell assisted by three other Bedford ministers. The graduates include Doris Fern Bradley and Marion Carson among many others. M. Z. Hendren led Bedford schools with a group of students at the Ames high school agricultural congress. Charles Churchill earned a superior in Farm Forum for The Tariff and Agriculture, Bedford among six schools to receive the rating. H. K.
