CLEARFIELD The Clearfield Community School eighth grade showcased an annual program in the gym Friday night March 12. Sandra Cooper read Watching TV and a production of The Big Hunt featured Donna Beggs Nancy Reeves John Lyddon Carol Larsen Mark Jensen and Karen Sobotka. The main play was Mrs Mumbly's Miracle with Diane Bennett Jim Nelson Michael Barker Karen Juergens Kathy Gordon Michael Gayle Gary Brown Gregory Beggs Michael MacMath and Nancy Reeves in roles. Jerry Brown served as master of ceremonies.

Taylor County 4-H Boys Tournament Set For March 27
The Taylor County Boys 4-H Basketball Tournament will be held at Sharpsburg and Gravity on Saturday March 27. Opening rounds occur in the morning at both sites with semifinals and finals at Gravity in the afternoon. Nineteen teams have entered across midget junior and senior divisions.

Women hear tips on clothing selection at Bedford Church
Sixty five women attended a Bedford Methodist Church meeting on clothing selection held March 10. Opal Roberson ISU extension specialist demonstrated elements line texture and color to pair hats bags shoes belts and gloves with outfits. She urged homemakers to note quality construction and finishing details. Coffee and cookies were served after the program.

R J Producers 4 H Club Holds March Meeting
The R. J. Producers 4 H club met March 3 at the Ross Community Center with eight members attending. Members voted to donate 50 cents each to AFL. Larry Tribolet spoke on car ownership costs, Joe Pittlekow on auto safety, John Tribolet on money, and Bobby Tribolet with Richard Tribolet provided a car stopping demonstration. Refreshments were by Steve DeMott.

A Taylor County Credit Conference panel including William G. Young of State Savings Bank Bedford Ralph Zabel of First National Lenox Robert Lovett Federal Land Bank manager and Max Henryson FHA supervisor urged farmers to maintain clear records and timely property transfers The event attended by about 35 farmers and homemakers was sponsored by local credit agencies Farm Bureau and Extension Service with a focus on improving communication and annual inventory reviews.
