Hopkins High entered the Girls and Boys Glee Clubs and a mixed chorus all rated excellent. Soloists Billy Charles Wallace and Mary Virginia Wallace earned superior ratings. Emma McMullen, Louise Traster, Ray Robinson and readings participants rated good. One act play also excellent. Dramatics teacher Mrs Largen. Certificates awarded for music and speech. The Woman's Missionary Society met at Mrs. Oliver Young's home Friday afternoon to observe Annie Armstrong Day. Mrs. Hazel Lasley hosted Hopkins Bulldogs and coaches Vance Geiger and Paul Gates Tuesday evening with a pen centerpiece showing five bulldogs and place cards featuring the two coaches as tiny men leading bulldogs. Lasley's son Dick belongs to the Bulldogs, joined by Mer lin Fike Bob Worley Glen Garton and Bob Andrews among the regulars.

Worth county selects representative for state student assembly. Lucy Ann Engle daughter of Mr and Mrs Milton Engle won with 215 of 255 points in the exam held in the Supt Fadley office on February 28. Norma Wilson and Cora Alice West placed second and third.

The district reports fire proofing and safety upgrades including crete stairways. a new library, social services such as hot lunches, a county nurse, and a school band. Weather proofing the playground was approved with fifty tons of gravel surfaced. The beginners band of 32 will debut March 12 and 13 at the junior class play. Movements include families relocating to local farms and homes, with redecorating underway at the Cowen property.
