Mrs. Shelby Lower, 38, died at her brother Guy Jacksons home in New Market after an appendicitis operation. Survived by husband Shelby Lower, five children Harry Helen Beryl Max Edith Jean, mother Mrs. M. D. Elam of Gravity, brothers P. S. Jackson and Guy Jackson. Funeral Friday at Walker Funeral Home Clarinda, Rev. Charles Arnold officiating. Buried Hawleyville cemetery.

Valley School Election Slated For March Ninth
Valley School residents will vote Monday afternoon March 9 for the school election. Mrs. Troy Sleep was rushed to St Joseph hospital Thursday evening and underwent appendicitis surgery.
