Siam Families Reunite as Ten Children Gather at Fine Home

A Thursday family reunion at the Mr and Mrs Perry Fine home in Siam drew all ten children to celebrate June 11. Attending were Vernon and Helen Beck Homer Wynn Claude Pace Elvis Sheridan Lynn Fine Inez Horer Ray Fine Clarence Fine Elza Fine and Conlin Jobe with Roy Renfro and three sons. Dinner followed a noon meal and photos were taken.

The Philathea class met Wednesday June 10 in the church basement with sixteen members and two guests. Sugar rationing permits issued locally at Beemer station

Gravity operates a sugar rationing board at Beemer Produce Station. Mary Margaret Moore and Mrs Elvin Beemer will be available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 4 PM to issue permits, avoiding trips to Bedford.

Mrs Carna Peck hosted the SHARPSBURG WCTU with eight members present. They voted a dollar to the state ambulance fund and sent eleven cards. The lesson covered the History of the Flag and Proper Ways of Displaying Flag by Mrs Dell Pennebaker. The County convention is set for Clearfield Friday June 26, with Mrs F L Cundy and Mrs Clifford Young as hostesses.

The Nu Bridge Club met at the home of Mr and Mrs Geo Trust on Tuesday evening. Five bridge tables produced high score wins for Ralph Rutledge and Miss Katherine Young while Mrs Carna Peck and Gerald Boydston took traveling prizes. Defense stamps were awarded as prizes.
