Mrs Jennie Dougan Dies at 87 in Bedford Memorial services set in Bolckow
Jennie May Houghtaling Dougan, born July 25 1869 in Platte Valley Missouri, died May 31 1957 in Bedford at age 87. She married James O Dougan December 1 1887 and lived in Bolckow where she taught Sunday school and served in the Methodist church. Surviving are four sons H Clifford Bedford Don C Hamburg J Bennett Albany and James W Rosendale and Vern Houghtalfig of Huntington California, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were held June 2 at the Bolckow Methodist Church with burial in Bolckow cemetery.

Vernon A Bladon born July 23 1899 died May 29 1957 at his home south of Clearfield aged 57 years 10 months 6 days He married Vera M Green in 1924 and had four children Martha Hammond Doyle LaVern and Don Franklin Don He lived in the Clearfield community most of his life and is survived by his wife four children in laws three grandchildren his mother one sister and one brother in Lenox and Diagonal Iowa.

Local Farmers Home Administration reports show more than $157,580 lent to farmers in Adams and Taylor counties since June 30, 1956. County supervisor Max H. Henryson announced the figures this week with repayments totaling $199,238.66 from loans issued in prior years. The primary repayments come from hogs, grain, and cattle sales, while the heaviest demand this year funds purchase of gas, oil, seed, feed, and other operating expenses, plus Holstein dairy cows and farm machinery.
