Mr and Mrs John Dille of Gravity will be honored at an open house for their fiftieth wedding anniversary Sunday July 6 from 2 to 4 p m at the Gravity Christian Church. Friends and relatives are invited and gifts are requested to be omitted.
Cal and Mrs L Guy Young marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a June 24 family dinner for 30 at the Taylor House. Daughters Pat Gates of Carbondale Ill and Peg Rosenfield of Columbus Ohio hosted, with relatives from Chicago Red Oak Bedford Indianola Mason City and other towns attending.
Children of Mr and Mrs Fred Glover host a reception celebrating their parents 25th wedding anniversary on Sunday July 6 from 2 to 5 PM at State Savings Bank. They request no gifts. 99 attend Campbell Reunion June 22 in Ottawa Kansas and nearby towns with a long guest list including Warren Campbell G J Streebin William Hazen Jr Ryan Ralph Robertson George Streebin Michael Lori Joe Yockey Jr Jeannie and many others from Missouri Minnesota Colorado Nebraska and Iowa.
Calendar items announce a July Fourth Friday wedding anniversary for Mr and Mrs Theodore Hef te y of Grant Colorado noting their 50th year. A 25th anniversary reception for Mr and Mrs Fred Glover is set for July Sixth 2 to 5 p m in State Savings Bank Blue Check Room. Miss Vicky Miller and Randy Beemer exchanged vows Friday evening June 27 at Bedford United Methodist Church. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Carl Cummings with parents Mary Miller of Bedford and Dean Beemer of Grav ity among the attendees. Forty guests attended the reception at the LaVern Peters home, and the couple will reside on a farm northwest of Bedford after a wedding trip.
Mr and Mrs Theodore Ted Heffey of Grant Colorado former Gravity residents will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 4. Their address is Box 116 Grant Colorado 80448.
Elizabeth Maurine Bush and Noel Ferguson wed June 14 in Kansas City with immediate family in attendance. Creston Little Theatre opens auditions for The Fantasticks inviting non locals. Moberly hosts May 20 union of Dorothy Green and Michael Hardee at Union Avenue Christian Church with detailed bridal party and reception. The couple plans residence in Moberly after a wedding trip.
Mrs Phill Ott reports from the I Club National Council Chapter's in Washington where the Kappa Phi Club with chapters at Iowa's three state universities marked six decades. The Lincoln memorial ceremony lit a candle to honor members in church related vocations. Themed Feed My Sheep the event addressed world and spiritual hunger ending with national officer installation and a celebratory Chinese banquet.
The NFO will hold a meeting for Taylor County members who have not paid dues. The session occurs July 10 at 8 p.m. in the Blue Check Room of State Savings Bank.
Area XIV on Aging seeks 65 plus individuals for community service awards to be presented at the State Fair on August 15. Nominations with qualifications should be sent to Marilyn Nethers assistant manager congregate meal site by July 10.
Dennis W. Walker, 1975 BCHS graduate, swore in at the Armed Forces Examining Center in Omaha on June 12 and arrived the same evening at Lackland AFB Texas for six weeks of basic training and nine weeks of security school. He is the son of Mrs. Twila Walker of Bedford and grandson of several Missouri families.
June 23 licenses include William Edward Spencer 21 Lenox and Carol Sue Glass 18 Bedford. June 27 couples Randy Dee Beemer 18 Gravity with Vicky Lynn Miller 17 Bedford and Jerry Alan Calvin 21 Lenox with Paula Louise Haering 21 Lenox.
Huntington Park Calif visitors Eldon Beason and family arrived to visit the Alvin and Earnest Barker household after a Grinnell stop. A sequence of visitors from Iowa and North Carolina joined dinners and gatherings through the week, including Donald Beason, Mike Barker, Donnie Eighmy and Norton relatives.
July 18 marks the deadline for Farmers Home Administration emergency loans to Adams and Taylor County farmers. About 193 applicants seek loans under a five year program at five percent interest, tied to a ten percent crop production loss from the 1974 drought. Applications available at the Farmers Home Administration office, with weekly sessions on Tuesdays from 1 to 2.
Clearfield and El Monte residents the Barkers and the Nortons traveled midweek to return home after visiting Mrs. Norton's son in Colorado.
