Eva Woodyard Rites Jan 20 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara A Eva Woodyard longtime Taylor county resident were held Jan 20 at the State street Shum-Novinger Funeral Home conducted by Rev Ollie Odle. She died Jan 17 1967 at Red Oak Hospital after a short illness. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery Bedford. Eva Levi born Dec 28 1888 Carroll county Iowa moved to Gravity as a child and lived in Taylor county most of her life. She married Clark A Woodyard Sept 2 1914. seven children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband and several relatives. She is survived by five sons four daughters two brothers two sisters 19 grandchildren three great grandchildren and many relatives. She was a loving mother and neighbor.

Joint Installation for New Market Lodge Officers

Public installation for I.0. OF and Rebekah Lodges held January 16 in New Market. District Deputy Grand Master Bill Paul and District Deputy pres Grace Selders of Lenox lodges presided with staff. Guests attended from Lenox Bedford and Clarinda lodges as officers for both lodges were installed.

Noble Grand and Officers Installed at New Market Lodge

Opal Smith presided as noble grand with LaVerna Rid nour as vice grand and Opal Brown as treas. May Belle Long served as right supervising officer to noble grand while Cleta Jones moved to left supervising officer. Hazel Young chaplain Leota Kendrick right sup to vice grand Mae Teeters left sup to vice grand Shirley Bengard warden Helen Whitehead conductor Margaret Fuller guardian Clyde Long musician Opal Brown. After installation a girls trio Kar en Karg Diana Smith Gayle Adams and Shirley Larson sang. New Market lodge presented retiring noble grand May Belle Long a gift. Grace Selders presented Opal Brown for acting as musician for Lenox lodge. Refreshments for 60 served during social hour.

Wilbur Walton Rites Held In Blockton

Funeral services were held January 20 at the Blockton Christian Church for Wilbur Forrest Walton 76 long time Blockton resident who died January 18 1967 at Ringgold County Hospital Mount Ayr. Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery Blockton. Walton born October 25 1890 in Grange City Kentucky was married October 25 1912 to Blanche E Minor and had a son Jay P Walton of San Lorenzo California. He lived in Blockton since 1905 worked as a farmer in Mount Ayr and Blockton and served as an auctioneer. He was a member of the Christian Church and Bethany Lodge No 320 A F & A M. His wife died January 21 1966. He leaves a son a grandson a daughter-in-law and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ralph Leonard age 75 longtime Clearfield resident were held January 20 at the Clearfield Methodist Church with Rev. T E Tschetter officiating. He died January 18 at Greater Community Hospital Creston Interment was at Clearfield Cemetery He is survived by his wife Jennie daughter Mrs Maurice Hanson son Donovan Leonard brother Wallace Leonard sister Mrs Ina Calkins of Clearfield a niece Mrs Marie McCann of Cedar Rapids who lived with the Leonards for years

Mrs Teter Rites At Cedar Falls

Mrs Teter 70 of Cedar Falls died January 12 1967 in a Cedar Falls hospital. Services were January 17 at Nott ger School Funeral Home Cedar Falls with interment at Ames Iowa. A Bedford High School graduate class of 1915 and Town State University Ames she taught in the universities applied art department and worked as home economist for Woodbury county and as assistant dietitian at Sartori Memorial Hospital Cedar Falls. Survivors include husband son and grandson.

Mrs. Perry Rexroad Dies in Missouri at 70

Mrs. Perry Allen Rexroad, 70, died January 17 in a Butler Missouri hospital after a months long illness. Last rites and burial were in Adrian Missouri. A Bedford native, she lived in Kansas City after her husband’s death and was formerly Ruth Widener, daughter of A. H. and Mrs Widener. She is survived by her son Perry Allen Rexroad and his wife of Adrian and two granddaughters, with several cousins in the Bedford area.

Deloris Evelyn King 38 of Sheridan died January 6 1967 in Omaha Nebraska. Funeral conducted January 18 at Prugh Dunfee Funeral Home Grant City Missouri. Interment Fairview Cemetery Bedford Iowa. Survived by husband Albert L King twin daughters Karen and Connie, parents Wilford and Tessie Lynch, sister Mrs Kenneth Benham and husband, two nieces and a nephew. She was active in church groups and community clubs.

Rev and Mrs Clarence Landis Mary Cavin and Hazel Newman traveled to Des Moines Tuesday to visit Mrs Mamie Saville at the Methodist Hospital and Maynard Lamond at the Lutheran Hospital. Clark Stroburg Leonard and Sanford Straight attended the funeral of their aunt Sylvia Wheat in St Joseph last Saturday. Rhoda Baker of Castle Rock Washington Mary Merckling Troy Missouri and Berndt Stroburg Austin Texas returned home with them for a visit.

Obituary for Humphrey William Henry Humphrey

William Henry Humphrey born December 26 1865 in Ma haska county Iowa died January 5 1967 at Pearl Terrace Manor aged 101. He outlived parents ten siblings and his wife Jane Ann Cooper. Survived by six children ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren with many nieces nephews and cousins. He was a farmer welldigger and member of Seventh Day Adventist Church since 1918. He enjoyed family visits and was affectionately called Gramps by relatives. He and his wife moved to a Colorado ranch in 1915 and returned to Bedford in later years.
