Funeral for Edward F Abbott in Clarinda

Edward Frederick Abbott born 1866 in Clay Grove Iowa. He moved to Taylor county as a child and lived here, worked with I W Abbott Mercantile in New Market and Clarinda, then moved to St Joseph. For three years he lived with his sister, in frail health, and died after three months bedridden. Survived by wife Anna Branson, daughter Lolita, and four brothers and three sisters including Frank W Abbott of Florence Colorado and A G Abbott of Pecos Texas. Funeral conducted by A Pollock and Rev Hall. Burial Memory Cemetery.

Laverna Hoffman and Orval Leighton Wed in New Market

Miss Laverna Hoffman and Orval Leighton Ridenour were married Monday December 31 at the home of Rev. C K Shackelford in New Market. Attending were Mr and Mrs Drue Hoffman Mr and Mrs Dan Teeters Mrs Frank Steel Mrs Ann Oxford and Mrs C K Shackelford who read the ceremony. A wedding dinner for the couple was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Dan Teeters on Tuesday.

Relatives Attend Funeral of F. E. Abbott in Clarinda

Relatives and friends from distances attended the funeral services for F. E. Abbott in Clarinda last week. Among them were Mrs Louella Abbott of Omaha, J. W. Denny and family of Coin, W B McPherrin and family of Long Beach, Kenneth Abbott and Dorothy Abbott, Cora Abbott, Walter Ferrell and family, Oren and Keith Neely, L. W. Wineinger of New Market, George Spaulding and family of Hawleyville, and Charles Brown of Laramie. Visitors from near and far included Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bayless and John Godfrey, Smith Brooks in charge of the Standard Oil truck, Hilda Journey and Agatha Baum, Walter Alger, Mrs. Frank Smith, Miss Fornia Fuller, Supt. and Mrs. R. R. Watson, Forest Allison and family, Charles Johnston and son, and Raymond McAnaney with his wife and son, plus Raymond Kralek visiting Shenandoah.

Annual church officer election notice

Miss Lena Thompson and Glen Kratzer wed at noon Sunday in the home of Rev. and Mrs. W. W. Kratzer with Rev. Kratzer performing the ceremony.
