Alex Name Gray led a community gathering where refreshments were served. Mra Werk Wright and Susana took part as attendees. The next meeting is planned for February, as reported by Vicki Searves.
A club meeting at the Grove School featured talks on nutrition and body use. Kris Nelson attended Winter Camp and Lila Wiss led recreation with plans for March 17 at the Grove Schoolhouse.
The regular Phatte Pale 4H Club meeting met at Jo and Judy Exklin home on Saturday February 1. Rita Young received nomination for Winter Camp and gave an illustrated talk The Fourth Meal Counts Too. Demonstrations by Jeanne Reed Sandee Cooper Lynette Shawler Paula Brokaw Denise Reed covered snacks eating and nutrition.
Ronnie Havens was nominated to represent the club at Winters with Randy Peterman as alternate. Ronnie Farrens led a quiz on Parliamentary Procedure. The next meeting is March 10 at Conway Methodist Church with Secretary Kenny Peterman.
The Grove Mustangs 11 Club met February 3 with fifteen members present. Two new members David Spriggs and Jack Sehofield joined. Topics included Tow Much Beet by David Rogers and Measuring the Loin Eye by Rodney Belding. Clyde Belding led Marketing of Meat. Next meeting set for March 3 with refreshments by David Boyles and David Brown.
Stephen Mitchell presented a demonstration on meat holdings at Fairview Hall on March 10. Eldon Naven reported the discussion while Bob Wetzel was nominated to attend Winter Camp with Ron Naven as the alternate.
The group convened February 8 with nine members present and two guests at Richard Brown’s home. Richard Tribolet was chosen as club nominee for Winter Camp, with Mark Enarson as alternate. Henry Russell demonstrated Quarky Grading of Beef, Larry Tribolet spoke on Dutability, and J F Lischer showed How to Measure the Loin Eye. Meeting was held March 5 at Ross Center Schoolhouse with tribolet family serving refreshments. Reporter Bob Tribolet.
The Bedford Belles 4-H Club held its regular meeting at the home of Elinor with members discussing club activities and upcoming projects.
Thirteen members and a leader attended a meeting to plan activities for the A FL Fund. A nominator and alternate were chosen to represent Julia Hamilton on February 30. Julie Huelskamp gave an illustrated talk on Hand Guide to Good Eating. Colleen Ortmann led a demonstration What Did You Eat Today. Janet Gold presented A True Life Nutrition Story. Melanie Spencer led a back demonstration on Fruits and Vegetable Snacks and Their Nutrients held March 3. Secretary Kay Keith.
The Jackson Gingerettes H Club met February 8 at Jane Osburn's home with six members present. Anita Rogers was nominated as club representative and Anita gave an illustrated talk titled A True Life Nutrition Story while Mrs. Guy Weir described Winter Camp. Mrs. Paul Ackley became a new club leader.
The Marshall Pals 4H Club met January 2 at Cin Barker’s home with vice president Jackie Norton calling for pic time. A birthday grab bag valued at .75 to 1.00 was decided. Hermanetta Reed joined as a new member. Mrs Keith Ferrens spoke on food trends and “The Fourth Meal Counts Too” was presented by Rosie Farrens. Next meeting at Della Walter’s home. The Dogpatch Farmers 4H Club gathered February 10 with twelve members and two leaders. The group voted to donate $15 to the church to help cover fuel costs.
Goldie S McCoun McCoun was born in Honity Kansas June 1800. She lived in Bedford and Taylor County, taught rural schools, married Ade Kinniewn and had four daughters Dawn Fern Hope and Clarine. She later married Larry Latchfield and was a longtime Seventh Day Advent Church member. Funeral services were in Vancouver Washington with burial at Park Hill Cemetery.
A March 2 demonstration at Mrs. Weir’s home featured Julia Lens presenting an illustrated talk on Hand Guide to Good Eating. Jane Osburn followed with a demonstration titled MRK Snacks and Their Nutrients.
