Sir Dunida and Mr Cecil Nelson of Griewood were supper guests of Mr and Mrs Marshall Derry.
A February 28 1970 auction will settle the King Badgutt Estate. The sale site is four miles east of Corning and four miles west of String. Items include CATELA cattle and calves 6 to10 years old bred, dairy and beef stock, sheep starting lambing April 5, hay, and extensive farming equipment such as tractors implements tools and miscellaneous hardware.
The clipping lists numerous local residents visiting relatives in Gravity Bedford and surrounding towns. It mentions gatherings for potlucks showers and church events along with names such as Gayle Ambrose Ray Bherry Derry Price Akers Leek Parks Adams Ginn and other Clark Page era families and church services led by Darrel Draper.

Funeral services for Elmer Reed Larison of Bedford were held February 18 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home conducted by Carl Cummings and Loren Daly. Larison, born November 3, 1836, died February 18 at Memorial Hospital in City Missouri. Interment followed at Hopkins Cemetery. He married Thena Prather on September 11 1920 in Nodaway County Missouri. He was survived by his wife two daughters two sons eight grandchildren and one great grandson with several siblings.
The notice lists Wilson of Twin Falls Idaho Fern Williams of Bedford Beulah Larison of Monterey Park Calif two brothers Wilbur Larison Twin Falls Wade Larison Bedford and numerous nieces nephews and friends. Elmer was a member of the Hart Dell Baptist Church and was described as a kind and considerate husband father brother and neighbor who will be missed by loved ones and all who knew him.
Food service personnel from the Midcrest Extension Area will meet Iowa State University specialists. The event features a robot show with Miss Electra who will demonstrate the Ultimate Appliance, an all in one kitchen device, in a total electric home of the future. Miss Electra is billed as a show stopper seen around the world.
The one day program on Thursday March 13 from 9:90 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. features experts Dr S L Hendricks and Tom Brattic on food service problems and training workers. Other talks cover food microbiology and sanitation by W S LaGrange and EO Wrath with sessions for owners managers health boards and staff in schools hospitals homes and businesses.
