Eva Coy Life of Lincoln event noted by Oak Hill Ladies Aid

The Oak Hill Ladies Aid met February 14 at the home of Mrs. Emma Price. Mrs. Lottie Kimpton led devotions while Mrs. Bessie Barker directed a program of readings and contests. refreshments were served by Mrs. Emma Price, Mrs. Bessie Barker, Mrs. Ralph Price and Mrs. Dee Liston.

Sharpsburg Methodist Church schedules church school at 10:00 a.m. and worship at 11:00 a.m. A countywide Institute for Christian Education will be held at the church on Saturday February 24. Sharpsburg W C T U reports meetings, fund status, and plans to buy a cyclorama for the school auditorium. Several local residents and visitors attend events, including Abe Decker's funeral in Lenox.

Siam Grover Manley Dies in Illinois Valley Community

Grover C. Manley died suddenly Friday morning near Siam where he was born and raised. He leaves wife Blanch Smith Manley and two adopted sons Orville and Wilbur. Funeral services attended by relatives from distant towns including Lincoln Nebraska and Clarinda Iowa. Also notes on local clubs and residents in Clarinda and Hopkins.

Valentine Party At School House And Visits Across Town

Thursday visits to Cecil Waldruff home followed by a Valentine party at the school house hosted by Miss Foster and Miss Brown with a Valentine box and treats. Ruth Shields entertained the Bebo t district mothers on February 14 with observed lessons and refreshments. Claude Abbeys attended an American Legion meeting in Hopkins Friday night. Edith Oxley visited friends in the afternoon. Lee Lucas and family visited his parents near New Market on Sunday.
