Man from Carlisle Loses Foot in Farm Accident
John Goodhue of Carlisle Iowa was hospitalized in Des Moines after a work accident on his father's farm. His foot was crushed when caught in digging machinery while assisting in a well project. He underwent amputation last week and is visited by relatives Lyle Young and Mark Young of Gravity.

Aged Lady Found Dead in Gravity Home
Mrs. Judson Beemer senior was found dead Saturday morning in Gravity, seated in her chair fully dressed, likely died the prior evening. She had lived alone since her husband’s death. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church in Gravity Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R. V. Felt, with burial in Gravity cemetery.
