Charles Alvord Rites Held Here February 9
Funeral services for Charles Henry Alvord 79 of Bedford were held February 9 at Shum Novinger Funeral Home in Bedford conducted by Carl Cummings. He died February 6 1972 at Clarinda Municipal Hospital and was buried at Fairview Cemetery. He was born August 1 1892 in Gravity Iowa and married Garnet Collar July 21 1926 in Omaha Nebraska. He ran a cafe in Gravity 35 years before moving to Bedford 18 years ago and served in World War I. He was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife and nieces nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death.
