Surprise Birthday Party for Glasgow and Granddaughter
A surprise celebration was held Sunday February 11 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Glasgow to honor the birthdays of Mr. Glasgow and his granddaughter Madaline Morris. Relatives and friends arrived with baskets for dinner and a large birthday cake with candles, made by Mrs. Glasgow for Madaline Morris. Attendees included Ray Glasgow, George Weaver, M. H. Glen club boys entertain assembly with songs and duets
An entertaining program was presented Friday to the assembly. A large group of Glen club boys sang a number for us. The remainder featured duets by Miss Needham and Mrs. Victor Davis and readings by Mrs. Davis. Visitors in high school this week included Lewis Van Alstine Johnny Swallow and Gladys Heatherington. A Little Seven declamatory contest will be held in College Springs Tuesday evening February 13. Contestants who placed second in their local contests will compete for honors. High school students with measles are returning to school. Several measles cases broke records. Lyle Hargis had perfect attendance for ten and a half years but was absent two weeks.
