The Lenox community hall hosted a declamatory contest with winners in Oratorical Dramatic Humorous classes. Pauline Shepherd topped the overall standings with The Hill of Silence, and Evelyn Rost placed high with Susie Slake’s Vacation. March 1 in New Market will feature Miss Shepherd speaking. Richard Kimball played violin, Velda Wray sang Lullabye Song, Doris Butler performed Break O’ Day, and a violin ensemble offered several numbers.

Former Lenox resident Mrs. Taylor wife of Connie Taylor died in a Kirksville Missouri hospital on Monday January 28 funeral services were held in Bloomfield Iowa on January 30 and the body was brought to Lenox for burial at Fairview cemetery accompanying mourners included her son Clyde Taylor and his wife as well as her husband.
