Final Rites Held For George Jared
Funeral services for George W. Jared age 70 of Bedford were conducted January 26 at the east Shum-Novinger Funeral Home with Carl Cummings officiating. Jared died January 2, 1968 at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. Presentation of a flag by the Bedford American Legion and Masonic honors by Taylor Lodge No 156 were given at Fairview Cemetery. Born May 26 1895 near Oakley Kansas he moved to Taylor County Iowa in 1914. He served in World War I in France and Germany and married Hattie Grace Bothel in Denver in 1919. they had one son W Eugene Jared.

Adams died January 23 1966 at his Blockton home. Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery Blockton. Born August 2 1893 in Nebraska he was the son of Major Adams and Clara Hichcock Adams. He lived most of his life in Blockton area and is survived by a sister Mrs Frank Irvin Blockton two brothers W R Adams Springville Iowa and Ray Adams Vinton Iowa a brother-in-law Mr Frank Irvin Blockton two sisters-in-law Mrs W R Adams Springville Iowa and Mrs Ray Adams Vinton Iowa and many nephews nieces cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters and his parents.
