Miss Mae Parks and Theodore Bix wed in a double ceremony at the Reid home with Rev. W W Kratzer officiating. The event united the Parks, Hiles, and Shields families as the couples begin new lives in Siam after a brief post ceremony trip.
Francis Cade died at his Hastings Nebraska home on Sunday evening. His widow, formerly Miss Golda Manley of Siam, survives him.
Mrs Ollie Potter hosted Christmas Day dinner with Frank Lloyd and Arch Clayton families along with Miss Beulah Brand Miss Gladys Brown and C A Clayton Turkey with trimmings was a gift from her daughter Mrs William Landon and family of Sheridan Wye Various families and guests shared meals and visits through the week including Mrs Roe Bradley Mr and Mrs Ernest Gray Mr and Mrs Fred Melvin and Garnett Mr and Mrs Ralph Fine and family Joe Shields Sr and grandsons Charles and Max Shields Marian Rayborn returned from Omaha and others traveled for Christmas to Clarinda Sutherland and Deepwater New Market Gravity Canon City and Morning Star area also notes a duck dinner at Mrs Ira Radke and a corn and hog program meeting held in the community hall Martha White is very ill
A full house attended the Siam Methodist Church Christmas program on Sunday night. The event featured a decorated tree, candy distribution by Santa Claus, and a program of choir and children's songs, readings, exercises, and a pantomime The Holy City sung by Mrs. Reid with granddaughter Ruth Shields, and piano accompaniment by Mrs. Glen Stewart.
A school Friday program featured Miss Beulah Brand Miss Gladys Brown and students in a pageant with gifts from children and treats from teachers. On Thursday teachers and students visited shut ins and aged residents to sing Christmas carols. Mrs. Johnson and Grace Johnson hosted a club meeting with gift exchanges and refreshments.
Leland Radke entertained the Gleaners class at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Walter Radke Friday evening in honor of the group.
Eagle Grove notes a Maple Grove church Christmas Eve program featuring welcome by Mrs Lula Allison recitations by Hubert ODougherty, vocal duets by Buddy and Dickie Snyder, readings by Wilmer Allison, Dickie Snyder, and others, plus a pageant supervised by Mrs Jesse Snyder with young performers Erville Wilmer Clarice Allison Dale Bird Ellouise Jah David Elizabeth Lowery Walter Helen Snyder Ruth Mary McCorkle Glenn Olin Thummel.
Mr and Mrs James Jefferies entertained Sunday for their son and wife Mr and Mrs Orville Jefferies who were recently married. Guests included Mr and Mrs Guy Hicks Mr and Mrs Ira Talkington Mrs Clara Larsson Minnie and Harold Shephard all of Bedford.

Glenn Thummeel from Maryville spends vacation with Frank Thummel family, and Mrs Lg M Bird joins her daughter in Hopkins for Christmas Day.
The Victor Whaley family spent Sunday with brother Sherr Whaley and family near Sheridan Missouri. Naomi Clayton had been troubled, while Sim Farlow and niece Mrs William Cornell hosted in the Miller household with Mr and Mrs Harry Nevin and Eva Miller.
Miss Bessie McCain of Lenox and Jay Henderson of Clearfield were married December 22 at 6 30 PM at the new Presbyterian church with Rev Thompson and Rev Hutchman officiating. Dinner for nineteen followed at the Cassill home. The couple left for Early Iowa to visit the bride’s sister and husband.
Mrs. Fred Childs hosted the L. F. T. club gathering on Wednesday December 20 with roll call Bits of Humor. Mrs Jay Hughes delivered a paper on Martha Berry. Bridge yielded high score for Mrs J J Walter. Refreshments served by the hostess and Mrs W H Madden. Guests included Mrs Anna Wainwright Mrs J W Jamison and Mrs Ed Nelson.
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Turner suffered a small roof hole after a Friday fire started by a chimney spark. Miss Winifred Rogers, a Washington DC teacher, is visiting her parents over Christmas. Mrs. J A McFee of Creston visits L W McFee and family this week.
Sam Wurster, winner of first and fourth places in the two year division at the International Live stock show in Chicago, was honored Thursday by Lenox people at a barbecue. Roast beef sandwiches and coffee were served. Otha D. Wearin, seventh district congressman, gave the afternoon address.
Mrs. M. C. Sanders hosted guests for Mr. Sanders birthday on December 18 with Will Sanders Berdie Wurster and Iowa Mullen among attendees. The Walter and Haigler property changes include Orval Walter running a Standard Oil truck. Theo Reimer had recently left that job. Other visitors include Harold Peacock and Hilda Peters from Omaha, Everett Cowan from Kansas City, and Ernest Harold Cassill visiting. Mrs. Effie Curphy improves after an operation. Lottie Lust and Dorothy relocate to Tarkio, Missouri. The Tucker family spent Christmas in town as well.

The WCTU sponsored a miscellaneous shower for Mrs. J. M. Philpott at the Raymond Glazier home on Thursday afternoon. About twenty friends attended and refreshments were served.
Entertains Club Mr and Mrs Charles Boydston hosted the rock club Tuesday evening. Mrs J R Alexander of Red Oak spent the weekend at the Charles Reed home. Mr and Mrs Lee Consholver and daughter Maxine and Mr and Mrs Karl Walker traveled from Des Moines to the William Shum home Saturday afternoon. The Walkers returned home Sunday. Walter Farnham was taken to St Joseph hospital Tuesday for an operation. Mrs Earl Farnham and Miss Fern Farnham visited Walter Farnham in hospital on Thursday.
