Mr. and Mrs. John Thornton of Bedford will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house at the First Baptist Church in Bedford on Friday December 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. Hosted by their children.
Louise Wier will host Union Country Club on December 29 with roll call sharing Christmas customs Ellen Lemke leads the program A gift exchange and officer elections are planned Mr and Mrs Vilas Hibbs to mark their 40th wedding anniversary December 31 with a 2 to 4 p.m. reception at Lions Hall Sheridan No gifts requested by the couple and relatives attend including Larry Hibbs and Virgil Piveral spouses.
The family expresses thanks for kind acts after the loss of Robert Coleman. They acknowledge calls, cards, letters, visits, food, flowers, and gifts of money and bless everyone for their support.
Elza Fine and spouse visited the Wyckoffs in Westside while Wyckoffs attended an athletic convention in Omaha. At Ar-We-Va School Mark and Scott Wyckoff won free throw contest titles, Scott placing third and Mark first in their division. Mark earned district honors and will compete January 14 at Storm Lake.
The family of Gordon Nicholas expresses gratitude to everyone who offered help and condolences during his illness and after his passing.
A busy week at Bedford Manor features numerous visits from relatives and friends across towns like Des Moines Corning Gravity Hopkins and Hopkins. The 4-H clubs and Brownie Troop led caroling and a Christmas program for residents while the Head Start Day Care Center children performed. Local bands and classroom teams added to the festive events with concerts and special games.
Mrs Guy Hinton treated at Clarinda Municipal Hospital with unspecified condition. Glen J Sharp of Bedford in Gentry Memorial Hospital Albany Missouri after surgery on Wednesday. Emma Thomas of Bedford admitted December 18 to Clarinda Municipal Hospital. Floy Maxwell discharged December 15 from Clarinda Municipal Hospital. Neva Pfander of Bedford a patient at Clarinda Municipal Hospital December 15. Earl Gaiusha of New Market recently released from Clarinda Municipal Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Strough of Bedford announce the birth of their son Mikel David on December 11. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Strough of Gravity and Mr. and Mrs. John Watson of Essex, Iowa.

Terri is Ivan Eugen’s daughter of Coin and Ralph son of W F Krause of Colorado. Ronald Waugh of La Habra California returned home after a week with grandmother Mrs Keith Waugh of Bedford.
