Sheridan Ladies Aid met Wednesday afternoon with Mrs John Elliott Sr assisted by Mrs Elmer Hibbs Twenty members were present and three visitors who became new members Mrs Kenneth Barks of near Sheridan visited Saturday evening at the Dall Churchill home Mr and Mrs Bill Pullen and Bully of Bedford were callers that evening Adult Ladies Sunday School Class of the Methodist church met Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Charley Wilson assisted by Mrs Frank Miller Fifteen members and one visitor were served refreshments There was an exchange of Christmas gifts The W S C S met Wednesday afternoon with Mrs Luther Cook assisted by Mrs H F Holland and Mrs Kenneth Hoover Fifteen were present Lt Harold Haley and family of Los Angeles arrived Monday by auto He will be in Kansas City assisting with bodies being returned from overseas for burial here The Haleys have 30 days stay Lt Haley will spend the weekends here Mrs Charley Graham son and daughter were Maryville visitors Saturday They stopped in Sheridan on their return home and called on Mr and Mrs Dall Churchill Clark Evans Dies word came Wednesday that Clark Evans 49 died in Phoenix Arizona He was a World War I veteran He is survived by wife and one daughter also his parents Mr and Mrs James Evans of Ravenwood one sister Mrs Mabel Sanders of Trenton Mo four brothers Morton Evans of Jefferson City Carl Evans of Altadena Calif Bob Evans of St Louis and Billy Evans of Sparks Nevada Funeral services were held in Phoenix Friday then the body was brought by plane with wife daughter and a brother to Maryville Military services at Miriam Cemetery Maryville There is nothing capricious in nature and the implanting of a desire indicates that its gratification is in the constitution of the creature that feels it Erman
