Services Held for George Layman 62 Bedford Washington Death
Funeral services for George Layman 62 of Elma Washington were conducted at the Bedford Methodist Episcopal church with Rev. M R Talley and Rev. J Stanley Decker officiating. Burial followed at Fairview cemetery. Layman born August 31 1871 in Champaign County Illinois married Sarah Catherine Jackson in 1898 and had five children. The family resided in Iowa before moving to Washington in 1918. Surviving are wife five children four grandchildren and three brothers Frank Bert and Fred Layman.

Phylis Weingarth of the eighth grade won the Christmas Seal essay contest held in Bedford schools. Leona Johnson took second in seventh grade, while Arlette Gold and Doris Moore won first and second in the fifth and sixth grade poster contest.
