Funeral August 14 1953 at Wetmore Funeral Home and burial in Fairview cemetery.

Four members of the Calvary Go Getters 4-H club and their leader Lyle Stoaks earned an expense paid trip to the Iowa State Fair. The award, given annually at the Taylor County Fair, honors the 4-H club with best member conduct and well kept pens and stalls. A committee of purebred livestock breeders who exhibited stock at the fair made the selection, with no committee members residing in Taylor county.
