Frog Valley school district marks twelfth annual picnic homecoming
The Frog Valley school district held the twelfth annual picnic and homecoming at Witte Grove. About ten o'clock crowds gathered for a noon picnic dinner and a brief program led by chairman H. M. Stiverson. Violinist Bart Adams aged eighty five won oldest pupil prize. teacher prize went to Mrs. Walter Noble. Guests included Mrs. Nellie Ray Gilpatrick of Grand Junction Colorado and Mrs. Dora Weaver Dunlavy of Sioux City Iowa amid a mostly uninjured crowd.

The seventh annual McAlpin reunion and picnic gathered August 9 at Clarinda park. Re-elected officers were Mrs. E G Strong as president and Mrs. Charles McAlpin as secretary. Dr. D T McAllpin of Long Beach, California spoke. a letter from Mrs. S A McAlpin of Des Moines was read. Dozens of McAlpins from New Market, Coin, Villisca, Red Oak, Chicago, Bedford, Elliott, Nora, and Clarinda attended with extended family members and friends.

Parsons Boy Hurt In Narrow Street Crossing Incident
Donald Parsons, son of Mr and Mrs Merle Parsons, was struck by an automobile Friday while attempting to cross the street. He lay unconscious briefly, suffered minor cuts and bruises, and was taken to Bedford for treatment where he is rapidly recovering. Merrill Thompson’s car crashed into a bridge railing near Frog Valley school on the same evening.
