Mrs Frances Causon and Mrs Clair Gibson attended a Sunday gathering hosted by Mrs John Gibeonome with several guests from Bedford and California. Community members shared meals, showers, and visits while church notes list services at Oak Hill and Christian churches, plus district meetings and upcoming events.
The Sharpburg notes record Mr and Mrs Albert Fickess visiting their son Paul in Polo Missouri last Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs George Gillette hosted the W S C S group with 13 members attending and a lesson led by Mrs Clifford Million. Visitors Irene Gold of Clarinda and Laura Morehouse plus Nellie Borden Overmights are mentioned among other social updates.
Mrs Mabel Bridges reports a Conway Sunday dinner for Merl Stockwell family and Kissell relatives from Council Bluffs. A surprise pre birthday potluck honored Mrs Mittie Bodam of Kansas City. Local visits include Rev Tschetter Sunday school and Dean Moore with son Bill from Des Moines.
New Market Chapter of O E S No. 481 held its school of instruction at the Masonic Temple on April 16 with guests from Clarinda Siam Coin Clearfield and Mt. Ayr. A new candidate was welcomed during inspection and a banquet was served by past worthy matrons. Mrs Vera Mae Baker district instructor led the session. Daisy Sierret and Bradley Larson presided. Various local visits and society meetings are noted, including missionary society, WSS at the Methodist Church anniversary, and a pot luck supper at the Masonic Temple with world trip photos from Clarinda guests.
The Bedford Bells 4H Club held its regular meeting Saturday April 2 at Linda Sexton’s home. Elinor Hamilton spoke on nutritious foods and why, while Diane McMillan discussed corn- topics and related health benefits.
