Bedford High School FFA members visited Claude Annan farm near Clarinda on Thursday April 5 to study seven projects. They examined 50 acres of timberland planted to corn, a 100 foot cattle shed with a 152 500 square foot feeding area, a machine and cattle shed per Iowa State College plans, a poultry unit with 400 pullets and 325 laying hens, seven acres of timberland pasture renovation, a river straightening project costing five to eight thousand dollars for nearby landowners, and a draft cropping system to reduce risk and raise net income.
