Bedford seniors take Towa Scholarship tests at local high school
Thirty three Taylor county seniors including 19 Bedford students sat for the Towa Scholarship and Placement tests at Bedford High School on Tuesday April 1. The tests, conducted at 75 Iowa centers under a University of Iowa staff member, cover mental ability English composition reading comprehension and mathematics with the Henman Nelson test. Other schools represented include Braddyville Clearfield Gravity Lenox and Redding.

Third Graders Draw Fantastic Animals
Third grade students under Mrs. Agatha Beemer created colorful fantastic animals with varied features. Four BHS students interviewed during Easter break all attended church at least once. Keith O'Dell joined sunrise services and helped with a church car wash. Lois Davidson spent the weekend at a slumber party and church events and washed cars for the Baptist Youth Fellowship and went bowling. Sharon Lyons worked on term papers and visited her sister in Kansas City.

Bell Brings Okefenokee Lecture To Bedford Students
Al Bell presented an illustrated Okefenokee swamp talk to Bedford high and grade schoolers at the BHS auditorium using a 10 inch live alligator. He noted the swamp spans 700 square miles and is the largest fresh water swamp in America while showing a 30 minute color film. Bell travels to about 400 high schools yearly and has visited 38 foreign countries on his program tours.
