An Alum Bank man fined 20 and jailed six months for DUI, with restitution to be set by the probation officer. two drivers had licenses restored on appeal with costs. Grand Jury foreman appointed. Local Accidents Cause 7 Injuries on Bedford County Roads
Four Somerset County men and three sailors were injured Sunday night in Bedford County accidents. A car hit the shoulder on Rt 220 near the Bedford Blair County line and struck a telephone pole. Memorial Hospital treated Melvin Stout and William Fleck of Altoona and Elliott Smith of Phillipsburg. A tractor-trailer swerved into a car on Rt 26 south of Breezewood at 11:15 p.m. The driver reported brake failures. Lester Hostetler, Frank Coachman, Ralph Koontz, all of Jerome, and Paul Shettler of Holsopple, were treated at Memorial Hospital after the collision. the truck driver was unnamed. Two cars damaged about 330 dollars each in a sideswipe one mile south of Saxton at 10:30 p.m. Drivers T. H. Reever of Saxton and J H. Wills of Mansfield, Ohio, were unhurt. A car hit a truck at 4:15 p.m. yesterday one mile south of Hyndman on RL 96. Paul E. Hebner of Schellsburg drove the damaged car worth about 400 dollars. Reid Lichty of Meyersdale drove the damaged truck worth 25 dollars. neither driver hurt.
