Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stuckey of Bedford Rt. 2 have gone to Mecca California for the winter. Mrs. Harry Feathers of Schellsburg is employed at the First National Bank in Schellsburg.
Murphy company employees across 295 stores received cash Christmas Gift Bonuses totaling over $200,000. The plan, in effect for 25 years, distributes from $5 to $80 based on service, excluding officers with 20 hours or more weekly. Military leave employees also received a bonus.
Purchases prize cow Delmar Ritchey of New Enterprise sold a registered Holstein Friesian cow to Kenneth Bowser of Martinsburg. Warren Méhrtens, famed for riding Assault to a Triple Crown, has been appointed a Hialeah judge this winter.
The Na pier Mennonite Young People’s Class at Tulls Hall held its monthly meeting at Shirley Seritch field’s home with Lou Dull presiding. The group donates 3590 to Japan missions from this summer’s tomato crop proceeds. Attending were Misses Leona and Evelyn Dull, Helen and Clayton Miller, Dorothy Detweiler, Clem Miller, Shirley Shippey, Fern Slick, Jeanne Smith, Rev. Leon Detweiler and Mrs Eugenes Scritchfield.

Jasper Frank Holler, 76, of Hyndman and Lormes resident, died at Potomac Hospital in Keyser, West Virginia, after a lumberman’s career. Born July 1, 1876 in Manns Chuiee, RD, son of Ellick Holler and Mary Gondon, he married Janet Guy who preceded him. He leaves two children Melvin Shroyer and Walter Guy, a brother Edward, and a sister Elizabeth Whitacre. Funeral Saturday at 2 p.m. at Zeigler Funeral Home Hyndman, with burial in Hyndman Cemetery. calling hours at the funeral home.

The junior Catholic Daughters presented a program titled Living Madonnas at St Thomas Catholic Church social room. Mary Donahoe chaired the event with Ruth Heming and others performing as carolers and models. Seventeen Madonnas were showcased including Correggio and Raphael depictions with Ruth Heming singing Ave Maria during the display.
The story and music from the stage production South Pacific will be presented by Everett Southern Joint High School music groups at 8 o'clock on Tuesday December 1. Ray Keowner, vocal music instructor at the high school, will direct the program.
The Senior Chorus and the Boys Glee Club will perform specially arranged Broadway numbers sung by a 60 voice choir. Proceeds from the show will fund gowns for the choral group.
The Youth Fellowship of the Bunnings Creek charge held a meeting at the Everett Reformed Church with 14 members from the Dunnings Creek group attending. The evening covered Young People Acquiring Fence of Mind. a Chicken and Biscuit dinner was served to the Loyal Workers SS. Class of St Paul’s Reformed Church. Santa gifted Christmas presents after the business meeting led by president Mrs Louis King.
Shawnee Circle Grove at the Supreme Forest Woodmen Club held its regular monthly meeting on Monday evening in the Moose Hall. Mrs Chester Claxcomb, Grove President, presided over the session.
Mrs Helen Karr district manager of Pennsylvania attended as a distinguished guest. Grove members decide to donate to the Children's Ward of Memorial Hospital for the Christmas season. After the meeting refreshments were served by Mrs Chester Claycomb and Mrs Vernon Miller. The table was decorated with evergreens and candles. Gifts were exchanged and the evening ended with Christmas carols.
