Bedford doubles past Corning in hard fought men's and women's hoops
Bedford High School swept a doubleheader over Corning High School on their home floor. The Bedford girls trailed eight to two after one period but surged ahead led by Ruth Parrish, while the Bedford boys used a stingy defense to slow Corning and win 22 to 19. Upcoming events include a departure to meet Clarinda and a high school debate with Atlantic led by Marjorie Smith and Elmer Bladow with a planned hour long musical program.

Sunday School plea from Judge Fawcett guides reform
Supreme Court Justice Lewis L. Fawcett of Brooklyn cites eighteen years of experience with youths in New York state courts. He notes that among 4,000 boys under twenty one arraigned for crimes only three were from Sunday schools, and most suspended sentences led to rapid reform with religious guidance and employment. He argues regular Sunday School attendance could cut crime and endorses church involvement for moral formation. The NorthWestern Christian Advocate highlights this as a key civilizational task. Presbyterian Ladies Aid to Meet in Presbyterian church parlor hosts listed with several ladies as hostesses for January 27.
