92 year old father welcomes 19th child in Kentucky

Lashmeet Miner Killed By Motor in West Virginia Mine
Dessie Bailey fifty of Lashmeet Mercer County died at about five pm in the Wineoak Coal Co mine at Arista after being rolled back over the motor under a low ceiling. Bailey a mainline motorman for twenty one years was a Mercer County resident with a large family. He survived by his widow Sadie White, three daughters Virginia Irvin Eunice Dillon and Carolyn Bailey, one son Hoover, six brothers and two sisters. He belonged to Local Union 6115 UMWA Arista. The body will lie at Bailey Funeral Home Matoaka then Lashmeet residence. Funeral at Lashmeet Presbyterian Church Sunday at 1 pm Burial Elgood Cemetery.
