German youth bound for three years to Schmidt then marries daughter

Lehr, a young German, appeared before a St Louis magistrate on Saturday last and bound himself to work three years for Schmidt in return for board clothes and the hand of Sophia Schmidt. The contract was signed by both parties and the magistrate then united the couple in marriage.
