Bayer Explosion Investigation Continues At Plant
Elizabeth Todd said the EPA must conclude its six month investigation by law, with potential earlier completion. Laughlin noted Bayer's internal probe will take weeks to determine cause and damage. Workers were decontaminated at the site and at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital for toluene exposure. CB&I and Brock Enterprises contractors were treated for injuries and later released.

City Council Mulls Junk Vehicle Rule Change and Budget Update
Baytown council weighs a 523.13 budget increase about 38 more than last year and a zoning tweak to align junk vehicle notice timelines on private and public property. City manager Gary Jackson says the change would allow 72 hour notifications and quicker removals, reducing blight while giving owners time to operable licensure. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall with TV rebroadcasts set for select times.
