The Baytown Sun reports on a school board candidate rally at city hall featuring 19 year old Scott Sheley Lee College student running for Position 1 who calls for a young voice to harmonize youth and adult perspectives. Incumbent Ray Swofford praises Sheley and jokes he does not wish him great success. Jerry Don Smith, seeking Position 2, shares his three year record of fiscal restraint lowering taxes while education costs rise and supports professional delegation of policies and improved pupil teacher ratios and a district wide junior athletics program.
