Runaway juvenile linked to shoplifting and car theft
A 15 year old from Montgomery County, reported as a runaway, was cited for theft after a woman paid with a $100 bill at a mall jewelry counter, grabbed change, and fled in a car driven by 18 year old Conroeman Vincent Nocette who was arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon. Burglaries across multiple addresses reported break ins and stolen items including firearms, game systems, TVs, and a car.

Satellite radar links man made Texas quakes to wastewater injections
A Science study confirms five Texas earthquakes near Timpson, including a magnitude 4.8 event in 2012 2013, were induced by oil and gas wastewater injections. Eastern wells were ruled out while deeper western wells caused the quakes, with satellite radar revealing ground uplift patterns and showing quakes ceased when injection pressure dropped.

Crosby ISD trustees keep tax rate at 1.67 for 2016 17
Crosby ISD Board of Trustees approved the ad valorem tax rate for 2016 17 maintaining a total rate of 1.67 per 100 valuation. Maintenance and operation 1.17 and interest and sinking 0.50. rate unchanged since 2013 14 with debt service previously 0.27. Bond funded a new high school completed this summer and the old high school and middle school were repurposed for use as a middle and elementary campus.
