Hill School District Opens New Elementary Building
On August 18 a new elementary school opened with 420 students in a facility planned for 500. The project cost over 1 million after two bond issues to finance the 925000 estimate. Ground was broken March 27, 1972, and it took over two years to complete as the district grew unexpectedly to nearly 1000 students. Attendance records were audited by the Texas Education Agency.
