Amtorg, the Russian trading corporation, told New York police it had received a report an attempt would be made on Premier Khrushchev. The alleged plan involved a gun hidden in a camera or microphone as police checked equipment carried by newsmen covering the premier's activities.
Houston officials from Humble Oil and Monterey Oil confirmed ongoing negotiations toward Humble’s potential acquisition of Monterey.
