Most enforcement aims to stop toll avoidance while dealers worry frames may obscure Texas at the top of plates. Law officers report varying enforcement policies.
In a Baytown Sun feature, Norman Krasna play Who Was That Lady I Saw You With? returns to Baytown Little Theater on September 26 with Kelly Martin Jr son Kim Martin starring as Mike Haney. Kelly Martin will play Lee Wong owner of a Chinese restaurant. Ellen Johnson who directed the 1966 production returns to helm the new staging as the family lineage continues its BLT legacy.
Baytown man Chris Lee Crow, 21, is charged with capital murder in the death of David Leon Mixon, 26. Mixon was found early Wednesday in the Coastal Water Authority Canal in Highlands with blunt trauma to the head and torso. Crow allegedly killed Mixon Monday on West Narro Street and dumped the body in the canal near FM 1942. he is held without bond and to appear in 263rd District Court. The Harris County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation, with the incident occurring in Baytown.
Senior Texas senator John Whitmire of Houston angered fellow Democrats by breaking ranks to return from a six week New Mexico stay. His move gave Republicans a quorum to resume redistricting talks, drawing jeers from some colleagues while earning GOP praise and calls for accountability from his district. Whitmire remained firm, saying his choice was hard but right. The split echoed through the Legislature as a third special session began to address congressional maps.
