Houston Livestock Show Sells Five Acres of Land
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodco will sell five acres off North Main for 3500 to R Thomas McDermott, president of J Ray McDermott and Co. The land ties into about 13 acres McDermott owns in the Buffalo Speedway area, part of a larger 200 acre holding once considered for a new site. Negotiations continue with the Houston Sports Association on a stock show exhibit building adjoining the domed stadium on county property, with a decision expected soon.
