Crockett Elementary Named Blue Ribbon School
Crockett Elementary in Baytown is among 24 Texas schools honored as Blue Ribbon Schools. Secretary of Education Rod Paige announced the 2003 winners, praising principals teachers and students for excellence and progress toward No Child Left Behind goals. Goose Creek ISD Superintendent Barbara Sultis called it a feather in Crockett’s cap for Principal Sue Chatham and the school community. The selection reflects the program’s shift to recognize high achievement and notable improvement, with criteria including disadvantaged student performance.
