Grand jury to review deputy shooting in Chambers County
Anahuac sheriff says a Chambers County grand jury will review the Sept. 10 shooting of Deputy Cecil Parker. Parker, 53, was wounded during an undercover operation involving a police informant and a stolen equipment sale. Alfredo Sanchaz, 35, Baytown area, was charged with possession of stolen property. The sheriff said the case has spurred changes in undercover procedures.

The Baytown Sun will raise subscription rates starting October 1 for home delivery and mail, with monthly home delivery at 4.85 dollars and mail at 5.85 dollars.
