Black Evangelistic Group Opens Dallas HQ First Black Evangelistic Mission
The Black Evangelistic Enterprises opens its Dallas headquarters as the first totally black oriented evangelistic group in the United States. Rev. Reu. ben S. Conner of Community Bible Church founded the organization, with Josh Messenger as administrative director. The plan includes house to house evangelism, home Bible studies, and radio outreach in predominantly black communities, funding half a missionary’s living expenses from churches, businesses, and individuals. The staff will mostly be U.S. based, but the first two volunteers are South Africans Jerry Nkosi and his wife from Johannesburg who were moved by spiritual poverty among American blacks.
